University of Salamanca (USAL) and the AIIS consortium presenting the first results of the Project AIIS: Artificial Intelligence, Innovation & Society. The project aims to improve medical students' digital & social skills with an innovative online program developed in cooperation with European Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and companies around 5 European countries: Spain, Finland, Greece, Netherlands and Belgium. This training includes understanding the capabilities of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in today's medicine and training in Soft Skills, to encourage the confidence of healthcare professionals and society in AI.

1st Results
The results of the first Work Package are already complete and ready to use. Specifically,
- “Research Results on Artificial Intelligence & Soft Skills for Medical Professors & Students” is the first result of the AIIS project which is the report created from the research conducted in 4 European countries: Spain, Greece, Belgium and Finland and contributed 442 Medical Professors and Students. This research had 3 stages:
- Comparative Analysis: Presentation of the state of medical schools in each of the countries participating in the survey
- Survey & Data Analysis: Analyzing the responses of medical professors & students and drawing conclusions based on their responses
- Desk Research: Comprehensive report on how medical school curriculum is structured around Artificial Intelligence and Soft Skills
- Then, based on the above report, the 2nd result of the first Work Package was completed: “Competence Guidelines & Learning Journey on Artificial Intelligence & Soft Skills for Medical Students”.
- This report represents a detailed structure of the learning journey, based on the Research above.
- Also includes the methodology which was used in order to extract the specific learning modules from the Research report.
- Lastly, has an analysis of each Learning Module (description, learning outcomes, ECTS\Hours, Key words, Content of the module, etc)
Brief presentations of these two results can be found here for the Survey, here for the Learning Journey of AI Skills and here for the Learning Journey of Soft Skills. Of course the full reports of these two results in 5 languages are also available here.
