HOW WE USE YOUR DATA AND WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH
The information provided will be collected by the University
- to evaluate and process your application for the Artificial Intelligence, Innovation & Society, the future of medicine (AIIS) project,
- to provide you with information you have requested about the project and answer your enquiries,
- to send you surveys about how the project has impacted your employability, if you participate in the project.
We are using your personal data because you have applied to participate in the AIIS project or you have filled in any of our online contact or register forms. By applying you are entering into a contract in which you give your consent to the University of Salamanca to contact you. If you are selected to participate in the project, the University will keep your data as you have entered into an agreement with it, which includes inviting you to fill in surveys about employability after the end of the project.
Your data will be shared among members of the academic and professional services staff of the University. If you are selected to participate in the project your data will also be shared among the members of AIIS consortium.
We will share your name and email address with other AIIS fellow students with whom you will be working as part of the course work.
THIRD PARTIES
We use Qualtrics software to manage surveys. If you are interested, you can read their privacy policy on the Qualtrics Privacy Statement page.
We do not use profiling or automated decision-making processes.
The AIIS project is managed by the University of Salamanca, which means that we also adhere to their Privacy Policy. Please visit the University of Salamanca - Aviso legal page to read its Privacy Policy.
RETENTION PERIODS
- if you register for information about the AIIS project and do not apply, your data will be deleted at the end of the project cycle you registered in.
- if you apply to the AIIS project and are not selected, your data will be kept until the end of the project cycle that you applied to.
- if you apply to the AIIS project and are selected, your data will be kept until October 2026 (three years after the end of the project, by October 2023) to complete surveys about employability.
MANDATORY DATA SHARING
In addition to the primary purposes, we are also legally obliged to share certain data with other public bodies and will do so when the law requires this; we will also comply with requests for specific information from other regulatory and law enforcement bodies where necessary and legitimate.
TRANSFERS OUTSIDE THE EEA
The University will not transfer data to countries outside the EEA.
RETENTION OF DATA AND YOUR RIGHTS
We will hold the personal data only as long as needed to fulfil the particular purpose for which it as collected. For information about how long your data are kept, please consult the retention schedules. You have the right to request access to, copies of and rectification or deletion of personal data held by the University; you can request that we restrict processing or object to processing, and claim, as well as, the right to data portability (i.e. the right to ask us to put your data into a format that it can be transferred easily to a different organisation). If you wish to make use of one of these rights, please email your local contact. If we have asked for your consent in order to process your personal data you can withdraw this consent in whole or part at any time. To withdraw consent, please email your local contact, who will explain the consequences of doing so and will initiate proceedings for withdrawing consent.
COMPLAINTS
If you are unhappy with the way we have processed your personal data you have the right to complain to Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (Jorge Juan, 6 28001-Madrid). We kindly ask that you raise the issue with our Data Protection Officer first.
These provisions are governed by the Spanish Laws.
Any dispute regarding the website of the AIIS project will be under the Spanish jurisdiction. The parties will be submitted to the Courts and Tribunals of the city of SALAMANCA, expressly waiving their own jurisdiction if any or different from the one outlined.
